Management Committee

The initial Management Committee is made up of founders of the Ring O'Bells Campaign.
Their details are below

Malcolm Higdon - Chairman

Malcolm has lived in Kings Heanton since 1998.

His connection with the area goes back to 1985 and he has always been a regular customer at the Ring O'Bells through many different owners.

Professionally, although now retired, Malcolm was a qualified Actuary and held many senior Pricing roles in various non-life insurance companies. During this period he was based mainly in London but also latterly in Rotterdam and Munich.

Malcolm therefore is able to combine local knowledge with the technical skills that add value to the Management Committee.

Terry Casey

Terry graduated from Southampton University in Electronic Engineering a long time ago.

He is regarded as an authority on Smart Buildings and the Internet of Things applied to Buildings and Energy.

Terry brings a wide range of Business experience and expertise to this group. He is the Founder of Trend Controls, the UK's leading Building Automation Technology Company and has held leadership positions in a number of Companies in UK and USA in the Smart Building Market.

He has been involved in several successful Start up Businesses with Venture Capital Funding and led Acquisitions of Businesses in UK, Europe and USA.

Annemarie Shillito

Annemarie originally came to the area over 20yrs ago with her RAF husband and so knew the Ring o’ Bells great reputation as a popular foodie pub.

Since then she has ‘worked away’ in Leicester, Nottingham and London in media and corporate communications roles, always coming back to a home in Pilton at weekends and in holidays.

Her final corporate position involved liaison with charities and a wide range of not for profit organisations so she is familiar with different charitable/social enterprise and community models.

More recently she has been working with a number of different charities and CiCs and employed with The Plough Arts Centre in a fundraiser and business development role. She was also one of the ‘Friends of Manning’s Pit’ and supported their pitch to the council and helped drive the public campaign and resistance against the London speculators seeking to gain planning permission.

Listening to the community and ensuring people’s views are represented is one of her key strengths.
